Live to Be Eighty-Eight & More

Longevity of life is desired by everyone.  Who wouldn’t want to live a long life, with more time with your family, watching your children, grand-children, great-grandchildren and even your great-great grandchildren being born, growing from toddlers to teenagers and into adulthood.

Also to live long enough to experience life and to learn new things and to see other places, to see locations that you saw in books or on television and to go there to experience other cultures and activities.

But it is most important to experience longevity if you can be healthy while living the long years, and we have a personal responsibility in making that happen.  Apart from a smaller number of diseases and conditions, some that are genetic or due to exposure to some caustic or corrosive substance, our eating systems or our diet, has a tremendous determination on our longevity, and whether we develop chronic diseases and whether we can ride out successfully an attack on our bodies like the flu or the corona virus.

We are often committing slow self-induced suicide by eating the common American and Western nations diet.  It tastes good, but its full of sugar, too many carbohydrates and is progressively damaging our organs and cardio vascular system, thereby reducing our lifespan.  It tastes good, but so does healthy food and the healthy food selections which will carry you to longevity and boost your immune system to fight off and prevent the ravages of germs, bacteria and other attacks upon our bodies.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has determined that 60 percent of Americans have a chronic disease and 40 percent of Americans have two or more chronic diseases.1 Not only are these diseases, the majority which are caused by our eating habits, are the reason for the rise in the need for medical care and medical insurance costs, but it is leading to the mortality and early deaths of our loved ones, our family, our friends, acquaintances and our fellow Americans.

Well then, what is the remedy  What can we do to live longer and be healthy into our older age?  Medical science has proven that an eating system, a meal-plan, a diet selection of food where one consistently eats green leafy vegetables, nuts, fruits and healthy meats (fish, lean poultry)2 will provide the daily food requirements for our bodies and keep us healthy to fight off the attacks of disease and sickness to our bodies.

This meal-plan often called ‘The Mediterranean Diet” is a food system that is similar to that which fitness pioneer, 88-year-old Ms. Ernestine Shepherd eats.  Ernestine Shepherd is a model, motivational speaker, fitness trainer & coach and she has her own clothing line.  She was twice awarded by Guinness World Records as the Eldest Competitive Female Bodybuilder in the World and she has appeared on CNN, the Ora Winfrey Show, and articles have been written on her by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) and many other media outlets.

Ernestine often says, “Age is but a number” and encourages everyone to eat healthy and exercise  to maintain your vibrancy for many decades.

Ernestine’s business manager, Mr. Yohnnie Shambourger is no stranger to the bodybuilding and fitness industry.  He is a former, world-class competitive bodybuilder whom has won several competitions including the Mr. Universe title in 1995.  He is the trainer who took Ernestine to the next level of fitness, when at the age of seventy years old that she wanted to elevate her effectiveness in her fitness journey.  Within seven months of expertise training from Yohnnie, she won her first bodybuilding competition.  After she turned seventy-six and seventy-seven years old, respectively, Yohnnie assisted her in obtaining the two Guinness World Records in bodybuilding.
